Reconfiguration of Artistic Experience through Generative AI: Focusing on Soundscape Creation

Abstract : This study aims to explore how artistic experience is reconfigured in the environment of generative AI. To this end, a generative AI-based soundscape creation workshop designed and conducted by the researcher was examined. A total of 40 participants, including 30 undergraduate studentsUniversity A and 10 undergraduate and master's studentsUniversity B, participated in a 100-minute workshop under the same curriculum. Data were collected through observation notes, open-ended questionnaires, and post-workshop focus group interviews, and were qualitatively analyzed using the constant comparative method. The analysis was conducted across three dimensions—'body', 'perception', and 'subjectivity'—based on John Dewey’s concept of art as experience and Maxine Greene’s notion of imagination. The findings indicate that generative AI tends to weaken the physical 'undergoing' involved in the creative process, transform imaginative exploration into the selection of stereotyped outputs, and reconfigure the creative subjectivityone formed through process into a user who approves results. In particular, the non-major group experienced immediate satisfaction and a strong sense of achievement in response to the generated outputs, whereas the major group recognized more critically the conventionality and limitations of those outputs. These findings suggest that generative AI not only expands accessibility to artistic creation but also reshapes the density of artistic experience, the autonomy of imagination, and the formation of creative subjectivity.

A Comparative Study of Maya HumanIK-Based AI Motion Retargeting and Keyframe Animation: Stage-Level Production Efficiency and Output Motion Quality

Abstract : 3D character animation has long relied on manual keyframing, but advances in deep learning-based pose estimation have made low-cost pipelines combining AI markerless motion capture with retargeting practically viable. This study empirically compares an AI motion retargeting pipeline based on Maya HumanIK with conventional keyframe animation under identical conditions. Production time was decomposed by process stage, and output quality was analyzed by combining quantitative indicators of joint motion continuity and root motion stability with rubric-based expert evaluation. The results show that time gains concentrate in the early stages and are offset during post-processing, while the quality advantage reverses by motion type, with root motion stability emerging as a condition-independent weakness. This study contributes by decomposing efficiency to the process-stage level and by locating the boundary of quality advantage in the precision required of end-effector joints, though its findings remain dependent on a specific pose estimation tool and limited in sample and task scope. AI retargeting thus relocates creative labor toward post-production review rather than replacing it, making adoption a question of assignment.

A Comparative Study on Portrait Photography Implementation of Image Generative AI -Focusing on Chat GPT and Gemini-

Abstract : This study conducted an in-depth comparative analysis of Open AI's Chat GPT(DALL·E 3) and Google's Gemini(Nano Banana 2) to examine the practical applicability and limitations of AI tools in the field of photographic art. Using two portrait photographs taken by the researcher as source material, the study evaluated each model's image generation performance. The findings are as follows. First, in terms of technical quality and background reproduction, Gemini demonstrated superior performance in output resolution and the rendering of camera exposure and color tones. The difference was particularly pronounced in reproducing the characteristics of camera exposure in outdoor settings. Second, in emotional expression, ChatGPT outperformed in the intensity of visual representation, whereas Gemini tended toward more restrained expression. Third, both AI models exhibited clear limitations in reproducing rear and side compositions—a result attributable to the frontal bias present in their training data. Fourth, both models were limited in their ability to accurately reproduce the specific physical features of the subjects. Chat GPT in particular displayed a tendency toward idealization, while Gemini showed relatively higher fidelity to the original; however, neither achieved complete reproduction. In conclusion, the portrait reproduction generated by image-generative AI remains a ‘statistically probable image’ rather than an ‘image imbued with the artist's philosophical perspective.’

A Study on the Formation Mechanism of Parasocial Relationships Between Chinese Generation Z Consumers and AI Shopping Assistants -Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Trust-

Abstract : As consumers’ expectations for product quality and service experience continue to rise, the use of GenAI in e-commerce has become an irreversible trend. In the consumption context, AI shopping assistants are evolving beyond tools for improving efficiency into “shopping partners” that provide recommendations, understand preferences, respond to emotions, and support decision-making. Accordingly, interest in human-AI parasocial relationships is also increasing. Based on self-determination theory, this study analyzes the mechanism through which Chinese Generation Z users form parasocial relationships with AI shopping assistants. The PLS-SEM results show that perceived relatedness and perceived anthropomorphism have significant positive effects on parasocial relationships. Trust was also found to mediate the relationships between perceived competence, perceived relatedness, perceived autonomy, and parasocial relationships. This study expands the understanding of parasocial relationship formation in the context of AI shopping assistants and provides implications for human-AI relationships, interaction design, and personalized service improvement.

The Impact of Generational Expansion of Children's Characters on Adult Consumer Experience -Focusing on Cosmetic Packaging Design-

Abstract : This study aims to analyze adult consumer experiences regarding the application of children’s characters to adult consumer goods in an era where character utilization is expanding alongside the rise of funsumer culture. Specifically, the study examines how consumers’ perceived values—functional, social, situational, cognitive, and originality values—associated with the visual elements of character design, including form, placement, and size, influence consumer experiences such as purchase intention, conspicuous consumption desire, and collection desire. For the research method, a survey was conducted with adult female consumers who had previously purchased cosmetics featuring children’s characters, and differences among variables were analyzed using t-tests and ANOVA. The results showed positive emotional responses across all dimensions of perceived value, suggesting that the application of character design to adult consumer product packaging is meaningful and effective. Among the visual elements of character design, character form was found to have the most significant influence on emotional responses related to perceived value, while placement and size played supplementary yet still positive roles. These findings suggest that the cross-generational expansion of children’s characters functions not merely as a strategy for stimulating nostalgia, but also as an emotional communication design strategy that generates consumer experiences related to emotional response, purchasing behavior, conspicuous consumption, and collection behavior. This study is significant as a foundational investigation into the cross-generational expansion and application criteria of children’s character design. Future studies expanding the scope to diverse product categories and consumer groups are expected to provide more meaningful character design strategies.

A Study on the Effects of Multi-Sensory Element Design of Children's Toys on Parents' Perception of Educational Value and Purchase Intention

Abstract : This study aims to examine how the multi-sensory element designs of preschool toys-encompassing visual, auditory, tactile, and kinetic factors-affect parents' perception of educational value and their purchase intentions. Focusing on the unique characteristic that the actual users (children) and the decision-makers (parents) are distinct, the research employed both literature review and case studies to analyze how parents perceive and evaluate these products. Three winnersthe 2025 Toy Awards were selected as representative cases: a learning-type sensory toy, an emotional interaction toy, and a puzzle-type cognitive toy. The core findings are as follows: First, multi-sensory design serves as a critical medium for the "visualization" of educational value. Parents tend to equate the quality of sensory stimulation with cognitive outcomes, and their perception of value is highest when the sensory design intuitively demonstrates a child's developmental progress. Second, "educational justification" acts as a key psychological mechanism for driving purchase decisions; structured sensory feedback transforms the act of buying a toysimple "consumption" into an "educational investment" for the future. Third, goal-oriented sensory "closure" designs, which tightly link visual learning goals with kinetic feedback, demonstrate the strongest influence on converting intent into an actual purchase. In conclusion, the study suggests that toy manufacturers should move beyond providing isolated sensory stimuli and focus on implementing a systemic educational value through the organic collaboration of sensory elements.

A Study on Public Interface Design Reflecting User Experience Characteristics of Generation Alpha: Focusing on Elevator Use Cases and Scenario Proposals

Abstract : Elevator interfaces were not designed with children in mind - and for Generation Alpha, this gap has real consequences. Born after 2010 into a world of touchscreens, instant feedback, and visual-first media, this generation processes information and interacts with technology in ways that static, text-heavy public interfaces are simply not built to support. This study investigates how the structural design assumptions embedded in conventional elevator interfaces create conditions for distraction and safety risk among Generation Alpha users, and proposes a set of responsive design scenarios to address them. Drawing on Piaget's theory of cognitive development, Garrett's UX layer model, and Relational UX principles, the study frames Generation Alpha's tendency toward 'boredom compensation behavior' as a predictable response to interfaces that offer no meaningful engagement - and a signal that design, not behavior, needs to change. Three design scenarios are developed around the themes of safety awareness, emotional communication, and accessibility, each grounded in specific technical interventions. Together, they advance a case for public interface design that treats generational diversity not as a design constraint, but as a starting point.

Effects of Shuttle Bus Wrapping Design Elements on Favorability toward University Identity -Focusing on Attention, Recollection, and Reliability-

Abstract : With the changes in modern society and the educational environment, the importance of strengthening the identity of the university is highlighted. This study proposed a design direction that can effectively promote the information recognition process of the recipient, focussing on the visual elements of the university shuttle bus wrapping design that makes the university identity visible in the living space, and tried to identify the mediating effect that leads to attention, recall, and reliability to university favourability. As a research method, we analysed the design expression, attention, recall, and reliability of the visual elements preferred by the recipient through prior research, case analysis, and survey, and analysed the impact of the design expression, attention, recall, and reliability on the likeability. Through cross-analysis, there was a significant difference in the recognition and preference of visual elements according to status, age, and contact frequency, and all visual factors were noted. Recall also had a positive impact on reliability. In addition, these variables have been confirmed to have a significant mediating effect on university favorability. Factors such as information, attention, memory, poet, reading, clarity, intuition, and association of the visual elements of the university shuttle bus wrapping design act as an important expression for the recipient's cognition, and the size and location of the visual elements, the modeling principle, and color expression were grasped, and based on this, the recipient-centered design direction was presented. This study is significant in that it empirically demonstrated that visual communication using shuttle buses can be an effective means of strengthening university identity and building university favorability.

Analysis of the Architectural Spatial Characteristics of Yeongwol Pavilions and Strategies for Utilizing Digital Cultural Content

Abstract : The purpose of this study is to analyze the historical and cultural significance and architectural spatial characteristics of nine pavilions in Yeongwol, Gangwon State, and to propose strategies for utilizing digital cultural content based on the findings. Literature review and field investigation were conducted to examine the historical backgrounds, architectural forms, spatial compositions, and functions of the pavilions. The results show that most Yeongwol pavilions feature a linear floor plan with three bays in the front and two bays on the side, along with an open-sided structure that emphasizes visual connections with the surrounding natural landscape. Traditional architectural elements, including hipped-and-gabled roofs, circular columns, wooden floors, and exposed ceiling structures, were commonly identified. Functional differences were also observed according to the location and historical background of each pavilion, including memorial functions, Confucian self-cultivation, appreciation of nature, and social interaction. Based on these findings, this study proposes digital archiving, storytelling-based cultural content, immersive content using AR, VR, and XR, and linkages with regional cultural tourism as strategies for the sustainable preservation and utilization of Yeongwol pavilions. As cultural heritage integrating local history, spiritual traditions, and perceptions of nature, Yeongwol pavilions can serve as valuable resources for contemporary utilization and regional cultural revitalization through the application of digital technologies and cultural content.

Analysis of Research Trends and Topics in City Digital Twin through Bibliometric Analysis and LDA Topic Modeling

Abstract : This study examines the knowledge production structure and core research topics in the field of City Digital Twin (CDT) by conducting a mixed analysis that combines bibliometric analysis and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling on 664 English-language journal articles published between 2018 and 2025 in the Scopus database. The analysis shows that research on City Digital Twin has followed an exponential growth pattern since 2020, with sustainability- and urban planning-oriented journals coexisting with engineering-oriented journals at the top tier, and with China, the United States, and the United Kingdom leading in national research productivity. The LDA topic modeling identified seven core topics: building and energy management, smart city infrastructure design, digital twin-metaverse integration, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence-based prediction systems, intelligent transportation systems, data integration and risk management, and Geographic Information System-based urban information platforms. Among these, digital twin-metaverse integration (28.5%), data integration and risk management (19.4%), and building and energy management (18.4%) account for the largest shares. The findings indicate that City Digital Twin research is developing as a multi-layered field at the intersection of technology systems and urban policy, and offer implications for fostering balanced research development and policy reflection.

A Study on Dark Pattern Detection and Cognitive Alert UI Design within Real-Time Personalized AI Recommendation Systems on Commerce Platforms

Abstract : This study analyzes the phenomenon where real-time personalized AI recommendation systems, which have become commonplace on e-commerce platforms, degenerate into deceptive dark patterns and proposes a real-time cognitive notification UI design to prevent this. Recently, platforms have been utilizing real-time social proof messages to create a false sense of urgency among users. While such pressure-type UIs can increase short-term conversion rates, they hinder users' rational decision-making in the long run and induce a sense of brand betrayal and cognitive fatigue. Based on a detection mechanism that identifies discrepancies between AI-processed data and actual source data, this paper designed a transparent layer and a visual traffic light system to help users intuitively determine the reliability of information. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed UI, a scenario-based survey and ANOVA statistical analysis were conducted on 240 adult e-commerce users. The analysis results showed that in an environment where the traffic light UI and transparency layer were applied, users' ability to discern information reliability significantly improved, cognitive fatigue caused by purchase pressure decreased, and long-term trust in the platform increased. This study aims to contribute to establishing ethical design guidelines for future AI-based commerce environments by combining quantitative data transparency with qualitative UI/UX interactions.

A Study on Strategies for Activating Cultural Welfare Services Based on Museum Exhibitions -Focusing on Major International Museums-

Abstract : This study analyzes the implementation of cultural welfare services in museum exhibition spaces, examines the relationship between exhibition environments and cultural welfare through case studies of major international museums, and proposes strategies for enhancing these services. The analysis of the British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Louvre Museum, based on exhibition-space configuration, accessibility, digital environments, and program operations, reveals that multilingual services, flexible admission policies, support for people with disabilities, and digital services are key components of cultural welfare. Based on these findings, this study proposes expanding personalized online services, developing community-linked exhibition spaces, and strengthening experience-oriented programs. The significance of this study lies in redefining museum exhibition spaces as core platforms for realizing cultural welfare.
