Local Culture-Based AI Video Contents Production

Gum Young Kim, Sun Ah Choi | JNCIST 15(2) 151-163

Abstract : This study aims to develop an educational program that transforms the historical and cultural resources of the Chungcheongbuk-do region into AI-generated video content using AI, and to empirically analyze its educational effectiveness. A structured research procedure was established, including the collection and analysis of digital data on local history, culture, and tourism resources, the application of generative AI–based video creation and editing technologies, the design of history–culture storytelling scenarios, and the construction of a pilot curriculum. The implementation results indicate that engaging learners in producing AI-generated video content on regional history and culture enhances their creative expression, media literacy, and understanding of local history and culture in an effective manner. In particular, instruction in which learners created AI video content featuring unique local historical and cultural assets, such as Heungsooai and Durubong Cave, generated high levels of interest and immersion, thereby confirming the potential of a practice-oriented, convergence-based educational model. The study suggests that AI-driven historical–cultural video content production can serve as an innovative, learner-centered approach to practical media education as well as a new direction for regional history and culture education in the digital era. Future research is needed to expand this model to a broader range of regions and historical–cultural themes and to develop more fine-grained evaluation indicators capable of capturing learners’ cognitive, affective, and cultural outcomes in AI-mediated history and culture learning environments.

An Emotional UX/UI Design Study Through a Comparison of Apple Music and Spotify: Based on the Theories of Donald Norman and Marc Hassenzahl

Yuri Jung | JNCIST 15(2) 179-189

Abstract : This study aims to analyze the characteristics of emotional UX/UI design in digital music streaming services through a comparative case study of Apple Music and Spotify. While previous UX/UI research has largely focused on functional efficiency and usability through quantitative evaluation, this study emphasizes the importance of users' emotional experiences and subjective perceptions in emotional UX/UI design. To establish a theoretical framework, Donald Norman's three-level model of emotional design-visceral, behavioral, and reflective levels-was integrated with Marc Hassenzahl's experience design theory, which distinguishes between Pragmatic Quality (PQ) and Hedonic Quality (HQ). A researcher-based qualitative evaluation method was adopted, excluding user surveys, to enable an in-depth interpretation of experiential qualities. The analysis focused on key user flows, including the home screen, browsing interface, and music playback screen. The results indicate that Apple Music demonstrates strengths in reflective and hedonic qualities through visual consistency and a strong brand identity, whereas Spotify excels in behavioral and pragmatic qualities through efficient information architecture and personalized recommendation systems. Despite offering similar core functions, the two services reveal distinct emotional UX/UI strategies and design orientations. This study contributes to UX/UI research by expanding emotional UX/UI analysis beyond functional evaluation toward experience-centered qualitative interpretation. Furthermore, it suggests the applicability of an integrated theoretical framework and a researcher-based evaluation methodology for emotional UX/UI analysis in digital service design.

A Study on the Redesigning of the Visual Warning of China's Tobacco Package -Based on a Comparative Study of South Korea and China-

JunQi Chen, Hee-Hyun Kim | JNCIST 15(2) 191-204

Abstract : Health riskstobacco use have become a long-term problem in the public health sector, and many countries around the world are enhancing image and text alerts on tobacco packages to raise risk awareness and promote smoking cessation behavior. Against this background, tobacco packages are not only a medium of health information, but also an important visual medium of brand image and brand perception. There are differences in warning intensity and expression methodscountry to country, which can lead to various responsessmokers in terms of cognition, emotion, and intention to act. In this study, the relationship between visual warning intensity, risk perception, emotional response, and smoking cessation intention was verified by comparing the propagation effect of visual warning re-design of cigarette packages in Korea and China. Based on the theory of health communication, we conducted visual warning re-designs for Chinese tobacco packages, while also establishing an analytical framework and conducting statistical tests through surveys. The results showed that visual warning intensity significantly improved risk perception, and first, visual warning in Korea was significantly superior to Chinese re-design in improving risk perception. Second, the visual warning format has a significant impact on emotional responses, image warnings in Korea are prone to fear and discomfort, and China has redesigned it to activate positive health associations. Third, in terms of the intention to quit smoking, China's re-design promotion effect is significantly higher than Korea's image warning, which showed that the reinforcement of risk awareness, fear, and discomfort necessarily leads to a higher intention to quit smoking. Studies have shown that there are two differentiated pathways for tobacco package visual warning: threat ventilation and positive incentives, which provide cross-cultural evidence for visual warning package design optimization and smoking cessation health communication strategies.

The Impact of Visual Elements of Milk Tea Package Design on Purchase Intention -Focusing on the ChaPanda Brand Case and Consumer Attention Theory-

TaiXu Qiu, HeeHyun Kim | JNCIST 15(2) 205-217

Abstract : This study empirically analyzed the impact of the visual elements of package design on consumer purchase intention amidst intensifying competition in the global milk tea market. Focusing on the Chinese brand 'ChaPanda' that entered the South Korean market, this study applied the S-O-R framework and Consumer Attention Theory (stimulus-driven, meaning-based, and emotion-driven attention) to identify the mechanism by which visual stimuli lead to purchasing behavior. An online survey was conducted among 152 Korean consumers with milk tea consumption experience, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS. The results indicated that 'color' and 'form' (stimulus-driven), as well as 'logo' and 'typography' (meaning-based), had a significant positive impact on purchase intention. In particular, color and logo demonstrated the strongest influence. The 'character' (emotion-driven) showed relatively lower statistical significance but demonstrated potential as a supportive emotional medium. In conclusion, for a successful entry into the global market, it is suggested that brands should maintain consistency in color and logo to maximize stimulus intensity and meaning recognition, while adopting a flexible 'selective localization design strategy' that considers the visual context of the target market.

Yu QiuTong, Kim Hee Hyun | JNCIST 15(2) 219-232

Abstract : This study aims to investigate how the visual elements of package design in the Chinese spout pouch jelly market influence product perception and choice, and to analyze Consumers' design preference tendencies. Based on prior studies and market research, packages of major brands were comparatively analyzed with a focus on logo, color, illustration/character, and layout, and an online survey was conducted with consumers who had experience purchasing spout pouch jelly. The questionnaire items were measured on a five-point Likert scale, and response patterns were examined using SPSS through frequency analysis and descriptive statistics. The results indicate that Chinese spout pouch jelly packages share a highly similar layout consisting of a top logo, central information, and bottom illustration/character and comparable color schemes and image styles, revealing a high degree of visual homogeneity overall. At the same time, color is perceived as a key cue for inferring product flavor, while fruit illustrations and characters are recognized as elements that enhance first impressions and visual attention. Accordingly, the study suggests that, while the current use of color and illustration/character is a strength, brand identity should be further reinforced through more differentiated color strategies, distinctive character concepts, and clearer emphasis on the logo.

A Study on Future-Oriented Operating Strategies for Open Storage

Min-seo Ko, Bo-A Rhee | JNCIST 15(2) 261-274

Abstract : This study aims to identify the new roles and operational directions that open storage should perform in the context of digital transformation and paradigm shifts in the museum environment. Recently, museum storage facilities have evolvedclosed preservation spaces into ‘open storage’ models that integrate exhibition, education, and research functions. In particular, the advancement of digital technologies such as XR and AI is expanding the disclosure and utilization of collection information, while simultaneously reshaping the overall operational framework of open storage. Accordingly, this study analyzes the operational characteristics and implications of a digitally converged open storage model, focusing on the “XR-linked Digital Open Storage and Integrated Collection Conservation Management System” implemented at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), Cheongju. The findings indicate that open storage has the potential to develop beyond a space for mere physical display into a knowledge-production platform that integrates conservation, exhibition, and research functions. Based on these results, this study proposes future-oriented operating strategies grounded in digital technology, including AI-based predictive conservation systems and a hybrid storage management model utilizing digital twin technology.

The 2021 ESG Milestone and Corporate Performance: Pre-and Post-Analysis

Hong Suhee | JNCIST 15(2) 275-284

Abstract : This study empirically analyzed the impact of ESG performance on profitability (ROE) and market risk (stock price volatility) for KOSPI 200 companies before and after the introduction of the 2021 ESG Disclosure Mandatory Roadmap. The analysis revealed that while ESG performance did not have a directsignificant impact on improving financial profitability, its risk management effect in reducing future stock price volatility was statistically and clearly demonstrated. In particular, it was confirmed that policy support since the 2021 institutional transition has promoted practical value creation and market stabilization of ESG management, as evidenced by the maximized risk predictability in the Environmental (E) sector. These results suggest that ESG scores function as a key leading indicator that goes beyond a simple management report card to defend against the downside risk of firms and enhance information efficiency in the market. Therefore, this study provides practical implications that corporate executives and investors should recognize ESG not as a short-term means of generating profit, but as an essential management strategy and risk control mechanism to ensure corporate sustainability and preserve long-term corporate value amidst a rapidly changing regulatory environment. Furthermore, this study holds significant meaning in providing empirical evidence for a virtuous cycle where the mandatory disclosure of ESG information enhances capital market transparency and translates non-financial performance into the establishment of stable market trust.

Sang-Eun Cho, Su-Young Lee | JNCIST 15(2) 285-298

Abstract : This study examined the effects of the educational environment in a basic learning ability improvement program for junior college students on major satisfaction, mediated by self-efficacy and learning immersion. The participants were 11 undergraduate students majoring in Library and Information Science who participated in the program. Using a mixed-methods design, data were analyzed through nonparametric correlation and robust regression analyses. The results showed that self-efficacy had significant positive effects on learning immersion and major satisfaction, while learning immersion was also positively related to major satisfaction. The educational environment functioned as a facilitating factor for self-efficacy rather than exerting a direct effect. It also provides methodological implications in that it has been shown that educational effects can be analyzedmultiple angles through mixed research design that combines nonparametric statistics, robust regression analysis, and qualitative data even in small sample situations.

A Study on the Resilience and Turnover Intention of Early Childhood Teachers

Sung-Une Yoon, Su-Young Lee | JNCIST 15(2) 299-309

Abstract : The purpose of this study was to explore the factors that reduce turnover intention by grasping the level of resilience and turnover intention of early childhood teachers and analyzing the relationship between the two variables and the effect of resilience on turnover intention. To this end, a survey was conducted on 184 early childhood teachers working at daycare centers and kindergartens in Seoul and Daegu. As a result of the study, both the resilience and the level of turnover intention of early childhood teachers were above average. Early childhood teachers' turnover intention was also above average, especially in the question of 'whether their current job is willing to turnover'. In addition, statistically significant differences were confirmed in the sub-factors of resilience and turnover intention according to personal characteristics. The total score of resilience and sub-factors showed significant negative correlation with turnover intention. As a result of multiple regression analysis, self-regulation ability and positivity were found to be factors that significantly predicted turnover intention. These results suggest that an educational approach that strengthens resilience can contribute to a decrease in early childhood teachers' turnover intention. This study provides basic data for the development of early childhood teacher education and support programs.
