Effectiveness Analysis of Lane Detection and Warning Systems in Multi- Environments

Hyung-Kyu Kim | JNCIST 14(1) 1-9

Abstract : This study aimed to derive the quantitative effects of the lane recognition and warning system, one of the ADASs developed and commercialized to ensure the safety of road users in a multi- environment. In past studies, the effects were estimated based only on traffic accident data, making it difficult to determine the independent effects of the lane recognition and warning system. For this reason, this study analyzed the quantitative effects not in terms of traffic accidents, but rather as ive measures of effects such as driver reaction speed and number of departures. A driving simulator was used with 70 drivers, and experiments were conducted during the day and night, with and without the lane recognition and warning system installed. The results of the experiment showed that the lane recognition and warning system was effective for drivers who did not recognize the lane and departedthe lane during night driving, and the time of lane departure decreased with the installation of the system. However, the number of lane departures slightly increased, which can be considered to be a problem of decreased attention due to the increased dependence of the driver on the system.

Tan Chunyang, Jong Moo Kim | JNCIST 14(1) 59-70

Abstract : This study aims to analyze the impact of users' motivation and IT affordance on purchase intention in the Chinese second-hand trading platform Xianyu App and to examine the mediating role of payment convenience in these relationships. A total of 501 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the key motivational factors for using the Xianyu App were identified as locality, economic benefit, and trust. Second, all three motivational factors were found to have a significant positive effect on purchase intention. Third, the three dimensions of IT affordance—visibility, shopping guidance, and meta-voicing—also had a significant positive impact on purchase intention. Fourth, the mediating role of payment convenience was confirmed, indicating that payment convenience partially mediates the relationship between user motivation (locality, economic benefit, and trust) and purchase intention, as well as the relationship between IT affordance (visibility, shopping guidance, and meta-voicing) and purchase intention. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of users' motivations and purchasing decisions in second-hand trading platforms, providing theoretical support for optimizing these platforms and enhancing user experience. Furthermore, the findings of this study serve as a valuable foundation for future research in this field.

A Study for the Conservation Treatment of the Stele for Buddhist Monk Tongil at Gagyeonsa Temple in Goesan

Wonryul Lee, Dongsun Lee, Gemma Lee | JNCIST 14(1) 95-104

Abstract : The Stele for Buddhist Monk Tongil at Gagyeonsa Temple in Goesan is evaluated as a stone cultural heritage with high historical, academic, and artistic value, built during the Goryeo Dynasty. However, it has been damaged due to complex causes as it has been exposed to the outdoor environment for a long time. Therefore, non-destructive investigations such as visual examination, weathering damage assessment, and ultrasonic velocity measurement were conducted to diagnose the damage status. As a result, the biological damage rate of the tower stele was the highest at 75.8% on the east side, followed by similar rates of 59.6% and 58.1% on the north and west sides, respectively. In addition, physical damage rate was the highest at 40.4% for peeling and delamination on the north side. Chemical damage rate was 67.1% on the east side, 56.6% on the north side, and 53.5% on the west side. In addition, the weathering index results showed that the order of the dragon top of the stele, the turtle-shaped pedestal, and the stone body was high, and in the case of the capstone, the weathering index tended to increase as it went up to the wish-fulfilling jewel. The weathering grade of each component corresponds to an average rock between grades 3 and 4. Such damage has the potential to change the original shape of the stele, so conservation treatment and periodic management are necessary.

A Study on the Protection of Package Disposition Exhibition -In terms of design elements-

Jisu Woo, Hyewon Lee | JNCIST 14(1) 105-118

Abstract : Taking issue with the low percentage of correct answers to separate collection methods by consumers, we tried to present design elements as a way to activate the separate discharge mark, and as a result of a survey to find out the reality and knowledge of the separate discharge mark, the current separate discharge mark was receiving positive responses in terms of functional, practical, and aesthetic aspects, but in the case of visual perception, it was difficult to recognize due to its small size. Satisfaction was low in the suitability of information provision, which can be interpreted as not difficult to discharge using the mark in case of simple discharge, but the package date and time combined with multiple materials cannot be easily understood with the current mark. In terms of improvement measures, respondents felt the need to supplement them and agreed that they were suitable methods to induce correct discharge in relation to the addition of illustration elements, phrases, and size adjustment, and prototypes were completed based on the results. At a time when various packages are released with the development of the times and the importance of environmental issues increases, it is hoped that improvement measures and activation studies for correct separation discharge will have academic significance for environmental protection.

Abstract : This study explores in depth the impact on consumers when Coca-Cola integrates traditional Chinese cultural elements into its package design in the context of the Chinese market. Over the period2006 to 2024, seven Coca-Cola can designs incorporating themes symbolizing traditional Chinese festivals, such as the Year of the Dragon and the Year of the Rabbit, as well as design elements related to traditional architecture, crafts, and folklore, were analyzed. Additionally, this study was conducted in conjunction with consumer research. The analysis results confirm that these traditional cultural elements strengthen the emotional connection between the brand and consumers and effectively enhance the brand’s cultural depth and market appeal. This study suggests that appropriately incorporating traditional cultural elements into brand package design can enhance consumer brand perception while delivering profound cultural value. This finding serves as a valuable reference for future brand design strategies. Furthermore, it indicates that design strategies reflecting local cultures in the global market can contribute to strengthening brand competitiveness and proposes the necessity of comparative analysis incorporating diverse cultural backgrounds and design trends.

Hongdo Kim's 〈Hwangmyo Nongnyeok〉 XR Content Production

Gumyoung Kim | JNCIST 14(1) 133-144

Abstract : It is self-evident that materials that can make the most of the advantages and characteristics of the region and local culture will have a competitive advantage in content creation.this perspective, I'd like to develop 〈Hwangmyo Nongchap〉, a work by Kim Hong-do, who worked in Ansan, as a local cultural content. The application of XR technology to the production of Joseon paintings as digital contents is a new way to preserve and disseminate cultural heritage. In this paper, we explore how XR technologies, including VR, MR, and AR can be used to create an immersive experience of Joseon paintings. In recent years, there have been dozens of studies on the cases and methods of applying immersive content to cultural heritage, but there are only a few studies that have directly created immersive local cultural heritage content and evaluated the impact of XR technology on the preservation and dissemination of local cultural heritage. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the feasibility and suitability of XR for local cultural heritage by implementing immersive local cultural heritage contents with XR technology. Based on the results, I propose a strategy for the development of immersive local cultural heritage content and contribute to its application to various cultural heritage contents in the future.
